Who Am I?

So I thought it was probably about time I did a proper introduction and shared a bit more about me. Who is this strange and sassy lady on the internet, you are asking? Or if you're not asking, you are now. And if you're still not asking, then why are you even here? Anyway...

As you likely already know, I am Lindsay. I live in the 'burbs with my husband, let's call him 'A', and our 2 kids, almost 5yo 'B' and 3yo 'V'. We also have 2 dogs, and 2 cats, and I'm sure you're imagining the white picket fence in our yard, which I can assure you, is not there.

By day, I work as a Sr. Instructional Designer making workplace safety courses to keep workers in Ontario (and beyond) safe at work. I've even won awards for that shit...crazy, huh? In my "free time" (LOL...mom joke) I am the person behind Mother and Nature, a small business focused on eco friendly goods for babies, parents, and earth lovers. When I'm not trying to make sustainable choices for myself and my family, I'm trying to help others live more sustainably. Yeah, I'm pretty great. My business was recently selected as a semi-finalist for Canada's Total Mom Pitch, so we're kind of a big deal around here.

Beyond that, I'm a pretty complex human being with lots and lots of baggage, which is where most of my humour and sass come from. I've experienced some pretty crappy stuff in my life, but I'm still here and I hope that my openness will help others. My past includes a variety of fun times including abuse and attempting suicide, as well as absurdly dysfunctional family issues. My mental health is an ongoing struggle and I hover between moderate to major depressive disorder, as well as mild to moderate general anxiety disorder. Most recently, I've found myself navigating pregnancy loss after an ectopic pregnancy. Folks, my life has been a shit show.

But I'm still here, and I'm me. I'm learning and growing and evolving, every single day. And I'm so glad you're here.

Lindsay aka Sassy Mother
