Life Update

Life Update

Shortly after my last post, and while definitely still pregnant, I was successful at landing a new job at a company that's considered one of the best places to work in Canada and beyond. While my pregnancy was a deterrent to many others, I am so glad that their loss was another company's gain. My new job and team are an absolute dream and I've never felt like I've belonged anywhere more. I was active in my role for just shy of 4 months before parental leave and can honestly say it was the best (and most productive) 4 months of my career. I can't wait to go back after leave.

Right before the new job landed, we sold our home and bought a new one in a new city. We uprooted our entire lives, including my business, in an effort to have more time, more money, and less of a whole lot of negative stuff. A fresh start in its truest sense, while I was 4.5 months pregnant, in a pandemic, with our moving date 2 days before my new job started. Obviously, we're crazy. But everything fell into place, we've been getting settled, and we are living a life that feels much more real and meaningful. Kids are excelling in their new school, renovations are moving along, we are loving remote work, and for the first time in our lives, we have financial stability that we didn't know was possible. Despite the crazy, it feels really good.

We've also recently welcomed our rainbow baby to the family (more on that in another post!). Pregnancy after loss was a challenging journey, particularly with all of the other changes that have happened in the last 6 months. I'm grateful she's here and healthy, and our life as a family of 5 has begun (9 if you count the furry family members).

6 months ago, I was depressed out of my mind, desperate to find a new job, and trying to figure out how to make a better life for our family. Now here we are, living that better life. Again, life showing me that it may not always be easy, but it's always worth it.

Thanks for reading. More on our rainbow baby and her arrival coming soon!
XO
Lindsay
