Mother and Nature originally began as Max and Zia Baby Co. in 2015 before our first child was born. I used sewing as a way to cope with the physical and mental challenges I was experiencing during pregnancy and the birth of my two children, including severe postpartum depression and anxiety.
As I learned to be a mother and take care of my mental health, I found myself craving a creative challenge that would push me outside of my comfort zone. I began to do more than create baby gifts for family and friends. I signed up for events, expanded my product line, created partnerships with local businesses and set my sights on making life easier for new parents with functional and cute baby goods.
My business continued to grow, and so did my vision. I wanted my business to serve a greater purpose and my vision had evolved to include an eco-friendly focus and cloth diapering. This evolution left a nagging feeling in my heart that "Max and Zia Baby Co." was not the right name for my goal. In 2019, Mother and Nature was born.
In addition to the learning, growth, and purpose that comes with owning and operating a small business, my reason why is my children. I want them to have a safe and happy world to grow up in, and that starts with taking better care of Mother Earth. In 2019, we committed 1% of our sales to plant trees through Team Trees in an effort to make our world a greener place.
To date, we've saved an estimated 200,000+ (and counting!) single-use items from landfills including disposable diapers, wet wipes, disposable menstrual products, cotton rounds, disposable breast pads, and more! Thank you for being part of our journey. If we work together, we can do great, kind things for our planet. There is no planet B.
